What to Tell Yourself Before a Competition/Performance

Before competitions, I used to also find a way to freak myself out. That was until I found some techniques
1. Deep Breathing
The first technique I use is deep breathing. I slow my heart rate down and take deep breathes for about two mintues. This calms me down and distracts me from all the negative thoughts that are going through my head.
2. Run Through the Dance
By doing this, I'm refreshing my memory and it also makes me feel better knowing that I do know the dance.
3. Telling Yourself it's Okay
Before a competition when I get nervous I always tell myself things like "you're okay, you know what you're doing, you're going to smash it". This technique really helps me and makes me more confident in myself
